I never realized how cheap my old towel bar was until I installed this new one. The side brackets are heavy and solid, and the included mounting kit really holds the bar firmly into the wall. Such an improvement over screws and basic drywall anchors! I only wish they'd included four anchors per bracket instead of two, I don't want another bar pulled off the wall. The rod itself is thin, but I don't think you'd want it thicker adding a lot of weight. Best of all, the color is true nickel grey (not as chrome-like as the photo implies) with a nice brushed finish.
Are there better towel rods out there? Probably. However, this one is exceptional for the price.
